prune elm
trees.
- AUGUST 31st: Pruning elm trees is now permitted.
Remember to
dispose
of your elm wood properly. Storing elm firewood is illegal!

Since
2002, SOS Elms Coalition is not recommending banding trees for cankerworms, as
the population is presently low. There is a population of leaf-rollers,
but trees bands are not useful in stopping them, as the female moths are not wingless,
and therefore don't need to climb up the tree-trunk to lay their eggs.
